The Spirit of Zionism alliance of Ayelet Shaked and Yoaz Hendel announced a split just five days ahead of the deadline to submit candidates for the Knesset.
Hedel who claimed he initiated the split, said he could not support Shaked's stance to join opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu in a narrow coalition should one be formed.
