Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett won the defamation lawsuit he filed against Rabbi Ronen Shaulov. Shaulov apologized for sermons in which he said that Bennett's mother is not Jewish and that his father's Jewishness is questionable, and therefore Bennett himself is not Jewish, and said that "after an examination, I would like to emphasize that these things are false. I regret saying these things and apologize from the bottom of my heart to the Bennett family for the heartache caused to them."
