Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin landed in Syria and met with Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, commander of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the organization that led the overthrow of Bashar Assad's regime. They are the first foreign officials to visit the country since the fall of Assad. The Turks also met with the interim prime minister in Damascus, Muhammad al-Bashir.
