Israel’s national baseball team won a silver medal Sunday in the European Championships, losing 4-9 to the Netherlands in the final.
Israel reached the final in Turin after an impressive 11–5 victory over host Italy in the semi-finals on Friday thus securing their place on the podium for the first time ever.
This is the Netherlands' 24th European title, while it was only the second appearance for Israel in the senior-level championship, having finished fourth two years ago after losing the battle for the bronze medal to Spain.
