Sweden announced on Sunday that it will allow Israeli travelers immunized against COVID-19 to enter the country starting Monday, lifting a temporary ban on tourists from the Jewish state amid a steep coronavirus outbreak.
On September 6, the Scandinavian nation had put in place a blanket travel ban on Israel, the United States and four other countries, set to run until October 31 unless further extended.
The move followed a recommendation of the European Union to its 27 member states to restrict travel from Israel and seven other countries due to rising coronavirus infections.
