U.S. Ambassador to UN: 'Resolution would leave Hamas positioned for further attacks'

|
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield addressed the proposal calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, unconditional release of all hostages and delivery of aid throughout Gaza, telling the Security Council that "both the content of the resolution and what's not included in it are unacceptable." She added: "Any outcome that undermines the security of our ally Israel is a plan that has no chance of success. The resolution undermines diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire that reflects the reality on the ground." According to her, "The resolution seeks an immediate and permanent ceasefire that would leave Hamas positioned to carry out additional future attacks."
