Several European powers have come to terms with the fact that tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz will be forced to pay fees to Iran and Oman. This was reported by Bloomberg citing sources familiar with the matter. Two of the sources described the situation in which some payment would go to Iran and Oman as a "given." They noted that privately, officials in Gulf states also hold this view, although it is not the official position of their governments. For now, it was noted that it is unclear what level of fees each country would agree to pay.
