The IDF said Saturday that it intercepted a drone attempting to smuggle weapons from Egypt into Israeli territory.
According to the military, the drone was identified earlier in the day and was shot down by Israeli forces.
Troops arriving at the scene recovered an AK-47 rifle, which was confiscated and handed over to the Israel Police for further investigation. The military did not specify who was behind the smuggling attempt or whether additional weapons were involved.
