U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to “blow up and completely obliterate” Iran’s key infrastructure if negotiations fail, as Israel revealed it struck a central military university tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Tehran.
“The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached… we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island.”

Trump added that such strikes could also target desalination facilities and framed the threat as retaliation “for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed.”
He also warned that failure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz would trigger further action, saying the waterway must be “Open for Business.”
The statement comes as Israel continues to expand its campaign against Iran’s military infrastructure.
The IDF said it recently struck one of the IRGC’s key military sites embedded within Imam Hossein University in Tehran, the corps’ primary academic and training institution, which it said also serves as an operational asset for the regime.

According to the military, advanced weapons development activities were conducted at the university under civilian cover.
The site is commanded by Mohammad Reza Hassani Shahnegari, a senior IRGC officer responsible for officer training and force buildup.
During the strikes, Israeli forces targeted multiple facilities within the university complex to damage Iran’s weapons development capabilities.
Among the sites hit were underground wind tunnels used to test ballistic missiles, a chemistry center used for research and development of chemical weapons and a technology and engineering complex involved in missile development.
The IDF said the strikes were carried out multiple times to inflict significant damage on the regime’s production and research infrastructure.
Several countries have previously imposed sanctions on the university and its senior officials due to its links to the IRGC and its role in advancing military capabilities.
The developments highlight the parallel tracks of escalation and diplomacy, as Washington signals both progress in talks and readiness for further military action, while Israel continues targeting Iran’s strategic military assets.
