A senior Iraqi official informed Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Iraqi militias engaging in the Middle Eastern conflict, particularly by targeting U.S. interests and potentially joining the fray in Lebanon, risk drawing Iraq into the crosshairs of Israel and the U.S.
Another source indicated that starting Thursday, Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, which includes Iraqi militias, went on high alert, extending its presence along the borders with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, undisclosed sensitive security measures have been implemented.
