Some residents of Mevaseret Zion outside Jerusalem were told to evacuate their homes after a bushfire began spreading in their direction.
Fire fighters were on the scene using aircraft as well as forces on the ground in efforts to contain the flames.
Mevaseret Zion is located near the number one highway connecting Jerusalem to Tel Aviv and the coast, which is often closed when fires spread in the area.
