Shots were fired at a contractor working for the Defense Ministry near the village of Jalameh, close to the West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday, the military said.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The shots were alleged to have come from inside a home in the village.
Palestinian media reported earlier that Palestinians shot at a military vehicle working near the checkpoint into Israel.
