Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Ambassador to the United States Gilad Erdan on Friday slammed Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas for blaming Jerusalem for the faltering peace process in his speech to the UN General Assembly.
"In his speech, [Abbas] proved once again that his time has passed and that it is no coincidence that 80% of Palestinians also want him to go away already. He once offered to sue Britain over the Balfour Declaration, today he wants to return to the UN Partition Plan," Erdan said.
"His lie about his and the Palestinians' nay-saying about peace stood out more than anything because whoever genuinely supports peace and negotiations does not threaten with delusional ultimatums from the UN platform.
