Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Hasmonean Battalion along with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and told the command staff: "We will preserve the world of Torah and protect the Hasmonean Battalion." According to him, "We are in a great struggle and need both spiritual forces and military power to overcome it. They come as Haredim and leave as Haredim - and this is possible. They don't come under coercion - they come voluntarily. We can lead a process not of defiance but of mobilizing all forces in Jewish society to truly ensure the protection of our state."
