The Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality announced the suspension of all activities at community centers and municipal country clubs (including swimming pools and cultural and leisure events in public spaces) as a gesture of solidarity with the struggle to return the hostages this coming Sunday. Mayor Ron Huldai stated, "The return of the hostages is the first and most important mission facing us at this time. We must not normalize, must not stop and must do everything we can to secure their release and bring them home. The heatwave we are experiencing is nothing compared to the nightmare our hostages are enduring in Hamas tunnels."
