Jerusalem Hills fire caused by 'reignition' of blaze from previous week

|
The investigation team of the massive 'Wall of Fire' blaze, which broke out about three weeks ago on Israel's Memorial Day, has determined that it was not intentional arson but a 'reignition' of a fire that broke out a week earlier on Holocaust Remembrance Day. Ynet has learned that the fire started from the remnants of the earlier blaze that consumed about 10,000 dunams of natural woodland in the Judean lowlands. The Memorial Day fire, which consumed about 20,000 dunams, led to the evacuation of thousands of residents from eight settlements in the area and the abandonment of vehicles by hundreds of drivers who were trapped on Highway 1.
