The largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, "Nahdlatul Ulama," demanded its chairman resign after inviting an American researcher who supported Israel during the Gaza war to an internal event. Reuters news agency reported this based on a protocol it obtained. The leadership of "Nahdlatul Ulama," which is also the world's largest Islamic organization with 100 million members, gave chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf three days to submit his resignation or be fired. Staquf has served as the organization's chairman since 2021.
