Brazil's former president Jair Bolsonaro is testifying for the first time before his country's Supreme Court following accusations of attempting a coup. Bolsonaro and several of his associates are accused of trying to create a "multi-stage plan" aimed at keeping him in power - despite his loss to current President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the 2022 elections. The charges against the former president and his associates include attempting a coup, involvement in an armed criminal organization and violent attempt to abolish democratic rule of law. The judge asked Bolsonaro if the allegations against him were true, to which he replied: "They don't hold water."
