Andorra recognizes Palestinian state: 'Demilitarized and without Hamas in government'

Daniel Edelson, New York|
Andorra has joined the countries that recognized a Palestinian state at the French-Saudi conference at the UN. The Andorran representative said that "this assembly, by an overwhelming majority, believes that the Palestinian people should live in peace and security in their own state, alongside the State of Israel. Based on this broad understanding, the Andorran government approved the recognition of Palestine. We will continue to firmly call for the release of all hostages, the disarmament of Hamas – the perpetrators of the atrocities of October 7, 2023 – and the establishment of a demilitarized Palestinian state that will exist under a reformed government that excludes Hamas from governance."
