Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he has reached an agreement with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on the defense budget framework for 2026, which will stand at 112 billion shekels. Katz stated that according to the agreement, "the budget will be based on an operational assumption of approximately 40,000 reserve personnel on average for 2026 - in accordance with the Defense Minister's directive and the reality of multi-front warfare." Additionally, he reported that "a budget package of approximately 725 million shekels has been agreed upon, to be spread over three years, which will address the strengthening of security components in Judea and Samaria - including transportation protection, road and route paving, establishment of IDF bases in the West Bank and projects on the eastern border."
