Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the state memorial ceremony for Zeev Jabotinsky at Mount Herzl and said: "We are working to achieve another release deal for our hostages, but if Hamas interprets our willingness to reach a deal as weakness, as an opportunity to dictate surrender terms that would endanger the State of Israel - they are greatly mistaken." Netanyahu added: "We are determined to bring everyone back, and so we shall." Regarding the fighting in Syria, he said: "It is impossible to remain indifferent to the horrific scenes in As-Suwayda. We will secure the area south of Damascus and do everything necessary to protect the Druze."
