The clarification stated that "after the article was published, The Times learned from his doctor that there were also pre-existing health problems." Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett responded to the clarification, writing: "After creating a tsunami of hatred toward Israel with this frightening image, the New York Times quietly admits that the child has pre-existing conditions. This is a blood libel."
