The U.S. administration has appealed to the Supreme Court against the Federal Appeals Court decision that ruled most tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump are illegal. The administration called on the Supreme Court to reverse the decision "quickly" and rule that the president has the right to impose broad trade penalties under federal law. According to the ruling, Trump "exceeded his authority," and shortly after the decision was published, he stated that "all tariffs are still in effect. If they disappear, it will be an absolute disaster for the country. The decision could literally destroy the U.S."
