The Ministry of Health reported a rabid fox in Karnei Shomron and a nearby base. Sixteen people who were exposed to the fox were referred for preventive rabies treatment, and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing. The ministry stated that "anyone who was in contact, or whose animals were in contact in the area of the incident with the infected animal or another stray animal, between August 31 and September 13 inclusive, should urgently contact the Petah Tikva Health Bureau at 03-9051818 or the health bureau nearest to their place of residence, in order to consider preventive treatment."
