Binder claimed he was updated on Oct. 7 early morning and set assessment; Inquiry committee: reexamine

|
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir decided to freeze for months the handling of the conclusions of the Turgeman committee, which he himself appointed to examine how the October 7 failures were investigated. Ynet has learned that the committee found deficiencies in the investigation of the Operations Division's functioning, which was led by current Military Intelligence chief Shlomi Binder. Binder explained in the investigation that he was first updated on the events in Gaza around 2:30 AM, was in contact throughout the night with air and naval force operators and Southern Command, ordered a central sensor activated over the Gaza Strip and scheduled a situation assessment with IDF top brass for 8:30 AM. The IDF does not deny that Turgeman's report on the Operations Division investigation was marked in red, meaning it requires reinvestigation.
