The Rishon Lezion Municipality filed a police complaint in the case of the pungent odor that disturbed many residents in the area, on suspicion that someone dumped large quantities of oil and fuel into the municipal sewage systems in the Nahalat Yehuda area, which according to Home Front Command experts was the source of the phenomenon. Police will use the camera control center in the municipal building that networks the city, in hopes of finding a lead.
