Matityahu Korman, a young ultra-Orthodox man from Jerusalem traveling in Sri Lanka, reported that he escaped from a tuk-tuk ride after allegedly experiencing an attempted robbery and kidnapping. According to Korman, the driver who was transporting him turned out to be a robber and tried to take him to a secluded location. When he realized this, he asked to get off the vehicle, but the driver refused, so the young man jumped out while the vehicle was moving and survived. The incident occurred near a military checkpoint, and soldiers came to his aid the moment he escaped.
