The Central Elections Committee, headed by Noam Solberg, ruled that Knesset Member Ofer Cassif from the Joint List will not be able to run for the 26th Knesset. Nineteen committee members voted in favor of his disqualification, five against and two abstained. The final decision will move to the High Court of Justice. Cassif responded: 'Presenting my opposition to the government's policies and the actions of its agents as support for the enemy, breach of loyalty and harm to the state is a blatant distortion of reality and a complete perversion of the spirit of democracy. Opposition to crimes committed in the name of the state does not contradict its interests and does not strengthen its enemies.'
