As Operation Gideon's Chariots B is about to begin, the IDF admits there is a problem with spare parts for tanks and armored personnel carriers and that "there is enormous wear and tear on personnel and equipment." The IDF says 30%-40% of bulldozers are not combat-ready, and only about half of the procurement of approximately 20,000 night vision devices for fighters and about 1,500 Humvees has arrived. They also noted that this is "an event managed according to priorities," and addressed the world's ultimatum on the issue of weapons and spare parts shipments. "There are embargoes against us on this issue even before the German ban, and we are working to find alternative solutions," they emphasized.
