Installation of drone protection nets has begun on one of Kyiv's main bridges crossing the Dnieper River – the first step of its kind since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This was reported by correspondents from the French news agency AFP. In recent weeks, two of the Ukrainian capital's eight bridges have been attacked by Russian jet-powered drones, which are considered difficult to intercept. The drone protection nets – already widely used in the eastern and southern regions near the front line – are designed to protect vital transportation arteries.
