State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman's report on the handling of the home front since the outbreak of the "Swords of Iron" war sharply criticizes Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, determining that he did not use his authority as head of the Socio-Economic Cabinet to activate the mechanism decided by the government for handling the civilian aspects of the war. According to the report, he failed to implement the government decision, which he took part in making, regarding the establishment and operation of the civilian command center. Additionally, he did not report back to the government about this, so that a decision could be made about which entity would be responsible for managing civilian aspects.
