Police arrested a 52-year-old man from the Bedouin village of Um Batin on suspicion of involvement in setting fire to the electricity room at the Shoket wastewater treatment plant operated by the Neveh Midbar Water and Sewage Corporation. According to the suspicion, criminals set fire to the room following the water corporation's refusal to pay protection money. As reported yesterday, as a result of the fire, approximately 30,000 cubic meters of raw sewage will flow toward Nahal Hebron and subsequently to Nahal Be'er Sheva.
