A senior Hamas official told the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that the person considered to be the organization's leader in the Gaza Strip, Ali al-Amoudi, was wounded in an IDF strike targeting him two weeks ago. According to the senior official, who declined to be identified, al-Amoudi sustained moderate injuries. The same official noted that he was indeed in the residential apartment that was attacked, but was in a side area of the apartment, and therefore survived the assassination attempt. The official stated that al-Amoudi is in good condition and is being treated in a secure location. This marks the first time a senior Hamas official has admitted that Israeli intelligence accurately targeted the strike.
