IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir met in the north with the mayor of Nahariya and members of the Shetula moshav's rapid response team, and addressed the war in Iran and Lebanon: "We are fighting inside Lebanon to protect Nahariya and the northern communities, and to ensure long-term security for residents. An opportunity has been created to change the security reality and we will not miss it." He said that residents of southern Lebanon will not return home "until we ensure demilitarization south of the Litani River," and added: "We are holding the territory and will not leave it until the direct threat against you is removed, Hezbollah is suffering a severe blow and we will continue and intensify it."
