National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has informed the District Court that he will advance the promotion of Supt. Ruti Hausleich to the rank of chief superintendent, whose promotion had been frozen. In July 2025, Hausleich's promotion to head of the investigations department and elevation to deputy commissioner was approved, but the appointment was not authorized by Ben-Gvir. Sources previously claimed that Hausleich's promotion was blocked due to her past opposition to the minister's positions. In his notice to the court, Ben-Gvir stated that "following claims that Hausleich was instructed by her superiors to conduct herself as she did, it is his intention to exhaust dialogue with the legal advisor." Legal sources said that "Ben-Gvir feared another reasoned ruling against him."
