British Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced the suspension of trade agreement negotiations with Israel. Israeli Ambassador to Britain Tzipi Hotovely was summoned for a reprimand. According to Foreign Secretary Cameron, the moves were prompted by "the threat of famine looming over hundreds of thousands of civilians in Gaza." He stated that the Israeli government "is isolating Israel from its friends and partners worldwide, undermining the interests of the Israeli people and damaging the country's standing in the international community."
