Head of Center for Local Government: 'There is no minister - and the Interior Ministry no longer exists'

|
Haim Bibas, Mayor of Modiin-Maccabim-Reut and Chairman of the Center for Local Government, addressed Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth's 'People of the State' conference regarding the elections that will take place in two weeks. He said: 'First of all, the central and important thing - to transfer budgets that are due. The Interior Ministry is not functioning, it no longer exists. There has been no minister for a long time, the ministry is not functioning.' Moshe Arbel resigned from his position as Interior Minister in July 2025 amid the draft exemption crisis, and Yariv Levin filled his role for a few months - but the seat has been vacant for a year.
