National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir spoke at the funeral of Uriel Baruch, whose body was returned to Israel as part of the hostage deal. Ben-Gvir said that "Uriel was murdered because he was Jewish. We cannot end the war for Uriel's children and our own. We need to dismantle them – they want to kill us all, we need the death penalty for terrorists – I've made a change but we need to completely eliminate their motivation to murder and kill." He addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "I love you, but we need the death penalty for terrorists."
