US President Donald Trump has ordered two nuclear submarines to be deployed to "appropriate areas" due to statements from Russia. He announced this on his social media platform Truth Social, explaining that "due to provocative statements by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the National Security Council, I have ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to appropriate areas near Russia - only if his statements are more than just foolish." He added: "Words are very important, and sometimes can lead to unwanted consequences." Medvedev recently wrote on X that any "ultimatum from the US is a threat and advancement toward war with it."
