Central Elections Committee rejects petitions to disqualify Otzma Yehudit

The Central Elections Committee rejected petitions to disqualify the Otzma Yehudit party from running in the 26th Knesset. Ten committee members voted in favor of accepting the petition, 19 against and one abstained. The committee's decision and its reasoning will be forwarded to the Supreme Court for review. A representative of the Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, said during the hearing that 'the list approaches the prohibited threshold for disqualifying a party due to incitement to racism, but does not cross the evidentiary threshold required by case law.'
