Report: Iranian regime to make internet access a 'government privilege'

|
The Iranian regime is planning to make internet access a "government privilege," allowing full access only to those who pass a screening and receive special approval. This was reported by the British Guardian, which quoted Filterwatch, an organization monitoring internet censorship in Iran. The organization noted that even those who receive access approval will be exposed to a customized and filtered version of the internet, while the rest of the population will only have access to a national network disconnected from the global one.
