Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei argued there is an urgent need to slow down the race to develop artificial intelligence. "We need to slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models," the CEO wrote in a 3,800-word post published on his website, according to CNN. He said, "Progress will still look fast, and we need to wisely use the time we gain." He said humans could lose control over artificial intelligence and that the technology can be misused for "cyberattacks, biological terrorism and severe economic disruptions. A race to the bottom, driven by commercial incentives, could exacerbate these risks."
