Hundreds participated today in a procession in Bnei Brak honoring 160 military deserters, "prisoners of Torah," who were arrested and released from military prison. The deserters were not arrested in a proactive enforcement operation, as such operations have not been conducted at all in the past two months by the IDF and police, many of whom are among them. Most tried to leave the country's borders to reach Uman for Rosh Hashanah to pray at the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, or were arrested upon their return. During the procession, media crews from Keshet News, Reshet News and Kan 11 were attacked by groups of protesters. Reshet and Kan 11 decided to evacuate the area as a result.
