Rabbi Who Lost Two Sons on Oct. 7 Urges Respect for State Ceremonies: 'Don't Desecrate Their Memory'

|
Rabbi Shmuel Slutzky, a lieutenant colonel in the reserves who lost his two sons on October 7, called in a ynet studio interview to respect state ceremonies on Memorial Day. Regarding protests heard at these ceremonies in recent years, he said 'I strongly hope this won't happen. In some way, it would desecrate the meaning of my sons' sacrifice and many other heroes who went together for unity and mutual responsibility.' He added, 'If they went out with such great unity, despite disagreements, we must preserve our state ceremonies, our kingdom.'
