As the Security Cabinet convened, parents of hostages referred to the "Send a Note to the Cabinet" display held at the Hostages Square. Participants were asked to insert notes with messages to the Cabinet calling for the release of the hostages. Rubi Chen, father of fallen hostage Itai Chen, said "We are here outside Shaul Gate - we asked the people of Israel to write what they would like Cabinet members to look at when discussing the fate of our loved ones." Yael Adar, mother of fallen hostage Tamir Adar, said: "This is a way to listen to the will of the people, dedicate time to read what the people are asking for and suggesting."
