The Prime Minister's Office stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "regrets that his comments regarding Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha were misunderstood." Following criticism Netanyahu received, the office claimed that "the Prime Minister meant to say that not receiving a directive from the security establishment to take action is what led the kibbutz members to act. There was no intention to suggest that no residents were murdered."
