Ambassadors from many nations at the UN condemned Hezbollah during a special Security Council session on the escalation in Lebanon. U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz condemned Hezbollah's attacks against Israel and argued that the terror organization "made it clear that it does not represent or protect the people of Lebanon." Representatives from Britain and France also condemned Hezbollah, claiming it "made an unacceptable decision to join Iranian attacks on Israel." In contrast, China refrained from condemning Hezbollah, blamed Israel for the escalation and called for a ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.
