U.S. Vice President JD Vance revealed in an interview with the British outlet UnHerd that Washington and Tehran have agreed to establish a direct communication channel with the Revolutionary Guards, "aimed at reducing the risk of further escalation of the conflict." According to him, under the arrangement, Iranian and American military officials will meet in Doha, Qatar, to resolve disputes and reduce tensions. Vance said the Iranians said "something along the lines of: 'Okay, we'll send someone from the Revolutionary Guards to stay in Doha with someone from U.S. Central Command, and that way we'll resolve many of these disputes.'" He added that the United Arab Emirates has also opened new communication channels with Iran.
