Iranian media reported a series of explosions and sounds of detonations at several locations in the southern part of the country and in the Gulf region. According to the reports, explosions were also heard in the city of Minab and in Bandar Abbas - near the airport and air force base - and air defense systems were activated in the area of the southern city of Asaluyeh. The Iranian news agency IRNA reported that explosions in Qeshm and Hengam were caused by projectiles or missiles hitting. On the other hand, the Tasnim agency claimed there were no explosions on Kish and Qeshm islands, and that the sounds heard there were related to confrontations in the Gulf. Press TV reported that a "location" in Sirik was hit by "enemy projectiles." As of now, there is no clear picture of the scope of the attacks or the damage.
