Deputy Knesset Speaker from Likud, Nisim Vatori, said during a Knesset session that Meir Kahane, who was convicted of terrorist activities in Israel and the United States, "was right in many areas where the people of Israel were wrong, and Likud was also wrong to exclude him." According to Vatori, referring to Likud's exclusion of Kahane, "back then all of Israel was too righteous." When MK Yorai Lahav Hertznu asked him if he "supports terrorism," Vatori responded "I support." When MKs told Vatori that Kahane was a "terrorist," he replied: "He was not a terrorist. Today he would be a saint, would receive the Israel Prize. Shout as much as you want, we are not afraid. Likud was wrong, and even in the years it was wrong - we will correct. Past Likud leaders were wrong. I think Kahane was right about many things."
